History and Philosophy

Parque del Lago Hotel Vivo is a Costa Rican family owned business, and since it{s opening in 1994, decided to differentiate from mainstream hotels by presenting exactly what defines Costa Rica And ticos: nature, life, friendliness in an atmosphere of well being and peace; the best of Costa Rican tradition with the conveniences of today.   The "Pura Vida" concept.

We make an effort to reflect, present and contribute within a philosophy of human development  an anthropological vision of the costarricans and the costarrican "flavor" as we recognize it within a hotel enterprise, in the service and management in an effort to rescue, investigate, present, promote and develop considering our cultural, social and psychological characteristics.

In trying to contribute with this big effort, we have taken elements from 3 recognized concepts and systems, that provide instrumental possibilities to our philosophy:
 
1-From the Museums... those elements of investigation, collection, conservation, and exposition of elements of our country´s heritage & tradition.

2-From Quality... ISO System, those that allow us to create and follow a system and philosophy on the effort and possibilities of human talent and that of capacity building, accompanying this effort with numerous seminars and workshops on different topics.

3-Sustainability and Social Responsibility... its structure and diagram of the different elements (human and non human) that interact in any society in order to achieve a better way of living to those participating and the conservation of finite resources, within the knowledge of infinite life.
